A word on how this came about. Sometimes we're engaged to build a site and then we build it, and sometimes we build first, because we can see where a business needs to go and would rather show it than describe it. Foresight and convenience are things we pride ourselves on for the people we work with.
It doesn't alter the pricing at all. The figures below are the same ones any Burstows rebuild would carry. What it changes is time, because you are starting from something you can see and react to rather than a blank page. And although the site looks good now, once the team completes a full rebuild of it on your suggestions, with dedicated time set aside for it, the result will be at another level again. Prices are in AUD and exclude GST. As the work is billed from New Zealand, no GST is added.
One off
| Item | What it covers | AUD |
|---|---|---|
| Website Plan, Complex | The full redesign and rebuild of burstows.com.au on Astro, moved off Webflow into Burstows' own accounts. Fifteen standard pages and four complex pages included, the Sanity content desk, one hundred content records brought across, redirect mapping, analytics, performance and technical search work, and a concept design before the build. Built ahead of this conversation, and rebuilt in full on your suggestions with dedicated time from the team once the quote is accepted. | 15,000 |
| Additional complex pages, 4 | Eight complex pages in all: the four location pages with contact card, map, gallery and facilities; the urns order builder with its printable form; the employment page with the recruitment form; and the two consolidated pages with section bars. Four are in the plan, four are charged at 500 AUD each. | 2,000 |
| Content brought across, 85 records | Thirteen services, sixteen facilities, twenty six news posts, fifteen guides, five support articles, nine urns and keepsakes, one position. Within the plan's allowance of one hundred. | 0 |
| Recruitment database | Applications from the employment form saved into Sanity with the CV attached, filtered by position, location, type and availability, with the status workflow for the team. A custom connection, built and handed over with notes. | 3,750 |
| Total one off | 20,750 |
Each month, from go live
| Service | What it covers | AUD a month |
|---|---|---|
| Foundations | The layer everything sits on. burstows.com.au hosted on Vercel and served from around the world, certificates renewed automatically, every DNS record managed alongside Rory, the Sanity content desk kept running with its subscription paid by us and editor access managed as the media team changes, uptime watched around the clock, and every account registered to an address at burstows.com.au so the domain, the code and the content stay with Burstows. It replaces the Webflow subscription, and it is managed the same way we already manage McGrath's. | 160 |
| SEO | Already in place and unchanged. The 800 AUD a month you pay today carries on exactly as it is, and the Search section explains why it gets easier to do well on the new site. It is not part of this quote. | unchanged |
| Website Requests | Copy edits, photo swaps, new pages and the small changes the media team would rather hand to us. 45 AUD an hour in 15 minute blocks, only as used. | as used |
| New each month | 160 |
Website Requests is a rate, not a monthly charge. A month with nothing asked for costs nothing.
How the build runs, and how it is paid
The one off is paid in three equal stages: a third on acceptance, a third on the build date, and the final third before go live. There is no deposit and no instalment plan, and nothing is paid before the stage it belongs to. Every date comes from the one build date you book, so you decide the pace.
| Step | What happens | Payment |
|---|---|---|
| Quote accepted | You accept the quote online. The first stage is invoiced, your build slot is secured, and onboarding opens the same day. | 6,916.67 AUD |
| Onboarding | Book a build date. Provide any photos, in this case the hi res photography from the media team, the real urns and keepsakes range, and any banner video. Tell us where the five forms should deliver. Any changes to the content go in before the build date, through a short checklist you can work through at your own pace. | |
| Build | Fourteen days from the build date. The content desk goes live with every record moved into it, the forms are wired, the recruitment database is switched on, the Firehawk embeds are confirmed on their current version, and the redirect map is tested. The second stage is invoiced on the build date. | 6,916.67 AUD |
| Revisions | Two review rounds of four days each. You and Don look at the site, pin anything you want changed, and we make the changes. Your sign off on the second round is what clears go live. | |
| Go live | An evening in New Zealand time, never a Friday. Rory confirms the date and that nothing touches DNS until we say, the certificate and the redirects are checked, and burstows.com.au moves to the new site. Training for the media team on the day. Foundations begins from here. The final stage is invoiced before go live. | 6,916.66 AUD |
What is not included
So there is no surprise later: photography and video, logo or brand work, third party licences such as Firehawk, and ongoing content changes after go live, which go through Website Requests.
The formal quote follows from our quoting system as a document you can accept online. Everything on this page is the figure it will carry.
